Preliminary research may involve talking to the customer, a visual inspection, a scan tool analysis, test drive and looking up any related Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) on the Internet. TSB's are documents published by the manufacturer that address common problems or updated test information that has been developed since the vehicle was produced. TSB's should be checked to avoid misdiagnosis and needless part replacement.

The NASTF (National Automotive Service Task Force) provides the most current listing of vehicle programming information sorted by manufacturer. Refer to the OE website list below or go to www.nastf.org for the most current list.
