Should I use a saddle clamp or band clamp to secure my exhaust joints?

Saddle clamps make good tight connections, however saddle clamps crimp the pipe and make it very difficult to separate the connection once clamped down. Band clamps do not crimp the pipe and make disconnecting and reconnecting those exhaust joints easy, but the sealing ability is not as good as the saddle clamp. It may be necessary to use exhaust sealer compound at the connections to get a leak free seal when using the band clamps.
